This IIED working paper describes an "action research" project that allowed community networks in four Asian countries (Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand) to reflect on amd document the innovative Covid response work they were already doing on the ground in their own countries.  Besides helping them expand and deepen that work, with some modest resources, the project also enabled these community groups to meet each other regularly, support each other and reflect collectively on the role the pandemic has played in the progress of their community movements.  The study was facilitated by ACHR, with support from the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). 

This document describes four community-driven projects that dealt with different needs during the Covid crisis in Indonesia.  The three projects in Jakarta were planned and implemented by kampung-based cooperatives that are part of the JRMK Network.  The public kitchen for women market porters project in Yogyakarta was organized by activists but supported by the whole city.
