This is a report on a visit Somsook made to Phom Penh in February 2009.

This newsletter was prepared to document the work of the Urban Poor Development Fund (UPDF) in Cambodia, up to the time of it's tenth anniversary, in May 2008.

This small report describes a conversation with a group of women in the Kulalom 1 and 2 communities, in Phnom Penh, about how their savings groups and their annual project to produce and sell the ubiquitous Khmer preserved fish - "prahok" - each year have both changed their lives. The discussion took place in April 2008.

These are Somsook's notes on a visit to Phnom Penh in March 2007, to better understand the situation of the poor communities living around the Boeng Kak lake in the center of the city. These cities have been under threat of eviction for some time.
