A reminder from survivors of past disasters: In 2006, in Phuket Thailand, ACHR, UNDP and CODI organized a meeting of disaster survivors and their supporters from more than 10 countries over 100 people all together. They talked about their recovery efforts. These were their three most important questions:
1. Why is people-centred recovery important ?
2. What are the tools, mechanisms and processes which enable affected people and their communities to drive their own recovery processes?
3. And how can we build links, networks and communication channels between affected communities?
